Clients come to The Movement Lab for many reasons. Some are looking for relief from pain or injury, some are looking to improve their mobility and balance, and many just enjoy the work and how they feel afterwards! These are all great reasons to join our classes or take private sessions and we look forward to helping you find what works for you.
“We strive to bring joy and enthusiasm into your movement practice in order to create harmony, balance and flow. We help each client develop a practice that is sustainable and part of a healthy lifestyle.”
I have been teaching movement for over 14 years. Having been an athlete and trying many different exercise systems, I discovered Pilates in 1998 and there was no going back. I fell in love with the method and became a teacher in 2007. Through Pilates, I discovered GYROTONIC® exercise in 2010 and it next leveled my passion for movement. I often say, “If you like Pilates, you will love the GYROTONIC® method. I not only got amazing results in getting stronger and more flexible, but also feeling more connected to my body than ever before. While the work is challenging, it felt so good it should be illegal. My obsession led me to become a GYROTONIC® teacher in 2013.
I have experience in working with an array of clients from high performance athletes, rehabilitative/therapeutic clients, and those who simply want to feel and look good. I am continually inspired by my students and my commitment in teaching Pilates and GYROTONIC® exercise is to help students improve their strength and flexibility, posture, coordination, and to develop a deeper body awareness. My goal is that students will fully experience movement with ease and grace, learning to work with their body and not against it. I believe that the human body is magnificent and holds a vast potential to experience joyful movement during all of life’s stages.”
I have been teaching movement for 30 years and continue to grow more passionate about my profession every day! As a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer I have a unique and wonderful opportunity of conducting teacher trainings and educational courses, in addition to my daily work with clients.
I have taught movement for over 25 years to a wide range of people: professional athletes, elite acrobats, Broadway dancers, physical therapy clients, seniors, amputees, and weekend warriors.
My passion for movement and vitality started as a competitive athlete, moved through 20 years of Yoga, Martial Arts, and Pilates, and finally led me to The GYROTONIC® Method in 2015. GYROTONIC® has been life-changing for me and it’s a joy to share with my clients.
My experiences as a professional athlete, musician, and actor have been great assets in teaching “the art of exercise and beyond.” My interest in breath-work and meditation have also informed my mind-body approach to movement.
When I’m not teaching you’ll find me chasing after my one year old daughter, writing about mindfulness, playing music, or training for the Ironman triathlon.
